The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.
The team did not mention the player by name in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the second round.
No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.
